Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has rolled out the Free Tractors and Land Levelers Punjab Scheme, offering farmers an opportunity to receive tractors and laser land levelers at no cost. This initiative will support those cultivating wheat on their land. Farmers interested in this scheme should register to be considered for the lottery-based distribution.
How the Scheme Works
The program is entirely free. Tractors and land levelers will be awarded as prizes through a lottery system. Farmers cultivating wheat on their landholdings will be eligible to participate. The scheme’s objective is to encourage wheat cultivation, addressing production declines in recent years and bolstering exports by increasing the yield.
- 12.5 to 25 acres: Eligible for the draw of 1,000 laser land levelers.
- 25 to 50 acres: Eligible for the draw of 1,000 tractors.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif has assured that if applications exceed the set limit, balloting will be conducted to ensure fair distribution.
Eligibility Criteria for 1000 Free Tractors, Land Levelers Scheme
Farmers must meet the following requirements to qualify:
- Permanent residency in Punjab.
- Possession of a valid National Identity Card (CNIC).
- Cultivation of wheat on 12.5 to 25 acres (for land levelers) or 25 to 50 acres (for tractors).
Registration Process
At present, the government has not announced the exact registration procedure. It is expected that an online portal or SMS-based system will be introduced soon. Stay tuned for updates on the process.
